Job Summary

The Systems and Operations Manager is responsible for co-managing winter service operations for the Homewood Mountain Resort Guest Services Rentals and Retail departments. This position oversees systematic operations of the Homewood Guest Services Office Lift Ticket Windows Ticket Scanning Retail Purchasing and Inventory and Rental Purchasing Inventory and Operations. The Systems and Operations Manager will respond to guest needs and anticipate their unstated ones. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains clean and efficient workspaces with open and welcoming environment for guests.

  • Responsible for Rental departmental labor Works with the Service Manager to hire orient train direct motivate evaluate and discipline all assigned staff and oversees work schedules in accordance with company policies.

  • Oversees all Rental Technicians and Supervisors and oversees work schedule in accordance with Homewood policies.

  • Commands high level of fluency with resort sales processing and database technology platform (RTP) problem solves various RTP functionalities.

  • Responsible to ensure a pleasurable resort access experience ensuring staff have the ability to process and problem solve all ticket season pass rental retail and technology challenges from point of sale (POS) tools to DIN Benches and on-mountain scanning interfaces.

  • Assists staff and resolves any guest service issues that may arise.

  • Responsible for Rental department budget.

  • Responsible for Retail and Rental Purchasing and Inventory.

  • Responsible for Managing all Retail and Rental Inventory.

  • Works with the Resort Services Director to manage all Retail Rental and Guest Services products in our database.

  • Responsible for Implementing and Managing Daily Systems related to Rentals Retail Guest Services and Ticket Scanning.

  • Manages maintenance ofall rental equipment in a safe and satisfactory condition.

  • Ensures all rental equipment checks are performed to industry standards.

  • Trains workers in policies department procedures and job duties.

  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet business needs and levels.

  • Recommends measures to improve departmental operation methods and performance.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop department and work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates and suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintains complete record keeping system.

  • Performs activities of workers supervised.

  • Ensures theRental department and employees are in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).

  • Collaborate with Service Manager on MOD Schedule. Coordinate days off accordingly.

  • Collaborate with Service Manager on all Retail Needs and Inventory.

  • Snow removal as required.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directlysupervises1-15employees in the Rental department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions percentages ratios proportions area circumference and volume to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral mathematical or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Bachelors degree desirable.

  • 2-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • Computer and database knowledge

  • Prior ski resort experience desirable.
