The Clinical Nurse Coordinator coordinates and participates in the delivery of nursing care and care plans to meet health needs of residents. Oversees and coordinates the activities of nursing staff in performing effective nursing resident care.
Responsibilities
Manages and oversees the operation of the Healthcare areas. This includes monitoring and evaluating the work performance of nursing staff to ensure compliance within established nursing standards are upheld.
Distribution of work schedule tasks to ensure proper distribution of assignment and adequate utilization of personnel space and facilities for the subsequent performance of duties.
Assist in the selection provision and control of material resources to include evaluating the quality of materials settings standards for the required quantities of supplies and equipment needed establishing procedures providing guidance and direction in proper use care and control of material resources and medications and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Assist in the training of new personnel (orientation) provide technical guidance and direction interpret and implement safety practices and set standards for staff.
Participates in compliance audits and reviews as needed for licensure and quality health care.
Plan and provide professional nursing care to include collecting and analyzing resident data developing implementing evaluating and revising nursing care plans. Respond to emergency and specialized resident care situations evaluate nursing care practices and communicate to appropriate personnel facts regarding residents for proper on-going care.
Conduct weekend rounds for evaluation of resident care review resident profiles evaluate the quality of care and make recommendations for improvements or alternative care as needed.
Direct the preparation and maintenance of resident clinical records ensure accurate inventory of medications narcotics and supplies.
Serve as a professional liaison with physicians and ancillary personnel to obtain and communicate information regarding resident care and related medical programs.
Assist with meal preparation delivery and clean-up housekeeping and activities as necessary to ensure resident needs are met.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensed as an RN or LPN in the State of Virginia.
Minimum three years as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with supervisory experience.
CPR/First Aid Certified.
Requirements
Maintain CPR Certification
Knowledge of general office equipment including computer fax telephone printer shredder copier
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
