We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Sustaining Operations Engineer to join our dynamic operations team. This critical role is responsible for maintaining optimizing and improving the performance and reliability of existing systems and products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills technical acumen and a collaborative attitude ensuring the continuity and efficiency of operations across all product lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance and Reliability:
Ensure continuous and reliable operation of production systems by monitoring performance identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
Issue Resolution:
Proactively resolve escalated technical issues coordinating with cross-functional teams (engineering quality assurance supply chain) to deliver prompt effective solutions.
Root Cause Analysis:
Conduct thorough investigations into system failures quality deficiencies and product recalls; document findings and execute preventive measures to eliminate recurrence.
Process Optimization:
Evaluate and enhance existing operational processes to improve efficiency reduce costs and support scalability while adhering to industry best practices.
Change Management:
Coordinate and implement modifications upgrades and retrofits to existing products and systems ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety standards.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs) troubleshooting guides and maintenance logs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all sustaining activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements standards and internal policies.
Collaboration & Communication:
Liaise with product development customer service and manufacturing teams to communicate operational feedback and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Training & Support:
Provide technical training and ongoing support to operations and maintenance teams to enhance their capabilities and ensure best practices are followed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or related field) from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a sustaining reliability or operations engineering role within a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis corrective action implementation and process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma Lean).
Proficient in data analysis tools engineering software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (ISO OSHA or industry-specific standards).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Masters or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification.
Experience with continuous improvement frameworks and digital transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with reliability engineering tools (FMEA RCA Weibull Analysis).
Compensation
Annual Salary: $98000 $112000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Hourly Rate (for reference): $47.12 $53.85
