Job overview
As our maintenance technician youll perform general maintenance and repairs on facilities and grounds at our Salem headquarters and our regional offices. When you do youll follow our corporate standards local and national codes and standard building trades practices.
Note: Youll be based in Salem but from time to time as the need arises youll get to travel to our offices in Bend Eugene MedfordNorth Bend and Lake Oswego.
Responsibilities:
Assist with maintaining altering and basic repairs to the buildings equipment fixtures furniture and grounds. Perform basic carpentry and plumbing complete touch-up paint to interiors and exteriors assist in renovation projects and remove snow and ice.
Participate in conducting daily inspections throughout the Salem buildings to identify safety hazards. Create work orders for issues found. Assist in determining repair and maintenance work needed to prevent unnecessary down time of facilities and equipment.
Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create work orders document work completed and ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed as assigned.
Carry a SAIF issued cell phone during scheduled work hours and during sceduled on call hours. Ensure availability for on call work according to the on-call schedule and on occasion be available to work outside scheduled work hours. Take appropriate action to initiate solutions within potentially critical time frames.
Travel to SAIF offices throughout the state on an as needed basis to perform maintenance projects and tasks.
Read and understand technical manuals schematics and blueprints to assist in job performance.
Assist in moving furniture materials and equipment from to and within SAIFs various locations.
Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and apply current knowledge of biohazards.
This position requires driving a SAIF vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of SAIF. The incumbent is required to possess and maintain a valid drivers license in their state of residence along with an acceptable driving record according to SAIFs policy.

Recommended qualifications:
Experience: Three years experience using hand and power tools to perform general building maintenance and construction tasks. Have basic understanding of plumbing painting and carpentry.
Education: High school graduation or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits
Typical hiring range: $51604 - $60710. The pay range for this position is annually based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation will be determinedusing factors such as experience skills training certifications & education.SAIF provides a wide range of benefits to employees who work at least 20 hours per week including health care retirement savings plans paid time off and more.
