Key Responsibilities: Services - PhD Candidate Researcher o Contribute to research & operations of the lab o Plan/run experiments o Write/review/contribute to Fecci Lab scientific papers o Collaborate with other lab members o Maintain and improve lab environment - tidy & friendly o Present research at conferences/retreats o Mentor other lab members o Complete coursework/obligations required by BME PhD Department Deliverables (July 2025 January 2026) o Successful completion of remaining Duke coursework requirements 15 credits of coursework 2 Teaching Assistant Experiences 2 Teaching Assistant Seminars o Relocation to Denver CO and completion of University of Colorado Anschutz onboarding requirements o Progress on first author review paper o Submission of F31 application o Contributions to miscellaneous Fecci Lab tasks that can be completed virtually (i.e. writing and experimental planning) o Conducting research in the Fecci lab as a visiting scholar until the completion of her PhD ideally by the Summer of 2029 o If needed additional time to complete PhD will be discussed and arranged with Dr. Fecci The University of Colorado and Duke University. | |
Work Location: | Remote this role will being as work remotely but the employee must move to Colorado to be on the Anschutz Campus 3 days per week by January 12 2026 Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. | |
Why Join Us: | The Departments goal is to build a multi-disciplinary group of investigators driving research innovations and education in neuro-oncology. We are seeking expertise in neuro-oncology tumor immunology and neuroinflammation. The Department is focused on developing novel immunotherapeutic approaches towards brain tumors whether primary or addition to collaborating with other researchers and clinicians within the Department of Neurosurgery we anticipate that the faculty member will develop new collaborations with other Departments and multidisciplinary groups on the Anschutz Medical Campus. | |
Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. BS in Biomedical Engineering Current graduate student in Biomedical Engineering 1 year experience in a neurosurgery lab focused in glioblastoma. Preferred Qualifications: 1 or more publication in the field Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 5 years in the diverse field of biomedical engineering aptitude for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and refined my research methodology critical thinking time management and communication skills | |
