At Six Robotics we build intelligent software that gives Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) the ability to collaborate adapt on the fly and execute missions that were previously impossible. From our base in Oslo our 40 experts in defence software and AI develop Valkyrie our flagship autonomy and swarm platform used by both government and close partnership with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) we move fast from concept to live deployment often in the field alongside end users.

About the role
Were building the next generation of our GUI client in React/TypeScript and were looking for an experienced Engineer who can both get hands-on with the code and help shape our frontend strategy at a system level. This is not just another React app - its a high-priority product that sits at the core of our offering and will be in the hands of our customers. Youll join a dedicated motivated team where frontend is a strategic focus and youll have the chance to truly own the stack and set the direction for how we build great user-facing applications.
Success in this role means driving development forward beyond the first launch: continuously improving performance optimizing the experience and shipping new versions that are even better than the last. Youll work closely with designers leadership and customers to ensure the application not only works but also delights making it a product our clients love to use.
What you will do:
- Lead the development of our new React/TypeScript GUI from the ground up.
- Take ownership of the frontend stack and make key architectural and framework decisions.
- Collaborate with design product and leadership to deliver an outstanding user experience.
- Gather customer feedback and translate it into product improvements.
- Drive continuous optimization and fast iteration to deliver better versions with each release.
What we are looking for
Were looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer who can dive deep into the code while also contributing to high-level technical decisions. You understand how React works under the hood have strong experience with TypeScript and know how to configure and choose frameworks that fit the bigger system architecture. Youre ready to take full ownership of the frontend stack and can clearly explain why one solution is better than another.
Must-haves:
- Deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of system architecture and the bigger picture.
- Ability to analyze and recommend frameworks and technologies.
- Effective and clear communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- High attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves:
- Fullstack experience (backend exposure is a bonus).
- Knowledge of GIS and mapping solutions.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Storybook and Tailwind.

Our Recruitment Process
We aim to keep our process short and sweet but also thorough. As a small team every hire matters and we cant afford to get this one wrong.
Heres what to expect:
- Screening interview with one of our recruiters to get to know you better (30 min).
- Meet & Greet with someone from the team to learn more about us (60 min).
- Structured case interview to get to know you even better (90 min).
- Final interview and a chance to meet with the management team (45 min).
