Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse position in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center requires a minimum of two years of experience in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department setting. The RN will provide direct patient care administer medications and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Experience with various medical conditions and procedures is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center.
- Assessing and monitoring patients conditions including vital signs and administering medications.
- Managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure including blood product administration and central line care.
- Performing procedures such as starting IVs continuous IV sedation and administering IV vasopressors.
- Managing patients with various conditions including CVA neuro-trauma spinal cord injury traumatic brain injury ortho-trauma abdominal pain asthma burns epiglottitis head injury hyperglycemia respiratory infections seizures urinary tract infections and ventilated patients.
- Interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Documenting patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
- Performing phlebotomy.
- Identifying and reporting abuse.
- Managing patients with mental/behavioral health conditions.
- Managing patients with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a combined adult/pediatric emergency department.
- ACLS BLS NIHSS PALS TNCC certifications.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center.
- Proficiency in EPIC Pyxis and SBAR communication systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- CPI and TCAR certifications.
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Experience with patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends out of a 4-week schedule).
- Three 12-hour shifts (12 PM - 12 AM).
- Patient ratio of 1:5.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility.
- 24-hour unit orientation.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (12 PM - 12 AM).
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Shift assignments are pre-determined and posted.
