Job Description
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance functions by maintaining financial records preparing reports and assisting with audits and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules verifying proper depreciation entries are booked and providing support to the business on related questions
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Document and update SOPs accordingly
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365 AS400 Agvance).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills within all levels of the organization
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
