Job Summary

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance functions by maintaining financial records preparing reports and assisting with audits and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules verifying proper depreciation entries are booked and providing support to the business on related questions
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Participate in internal and external audits
Document and update SOPs accordingly

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required
1-3 years of accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365 AS400 Agvance).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Communication skills within all levels of the organization
Strong understanding of GAAP
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
