Montessori classrooms are equipped with a diverse set of materials which are designed to foster physical intellectual creative and social independence. The classroom atmosphere encourages social interaction for cooperative learning peer teaching and emotional development. Learning occurs in an inquiring cooperative nurturing atmosphere where students increase their own knowledge through self-initiated experiences under the guidance of trained adults.
The Opportunity:
The Building Substitute Teacher plays an essential role in ensuring continuity of learning across the school. This position is responsible for providing high-quality instruction when classroom teachers or specialists are absent and supporting a range of educational environments including general education special education SCALE classrooms and Special Start preschool classrooms.
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibilityinstructional skills a commitment to inclusive practices and the ability to build positive supportive relationships with students of varying ages and needs.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or higher required. Teaching experience in an urban setting with multicultural student populations. Good collaborative skills for working with collaborating teachers staff and parents.
