Job Title: Building Maintenance

Reports To: Building & Facilities Manager
Primary Purpose
Assist in maintaining a clean functional and comfortable working environment for employees and visitors.

Education/Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/Skills
Team oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff campus/district/charter school personnel.
Must possess a basic knowledge of facilities maintenance including but not limited to plumbing electrical carpentry HVAC systems and grounds care.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques for conference room tables and chairs.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Ability to lift and transport trash and discarded items from meeting rooms to outside receptacles.
Possess and maintain a current and valid Texas drivers license.
Ability to work cooperatively with ESC staff and outside presenters.
Experience
Three years prior experience in facilities maintenance is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

**This position may be partially or completely funded using grant and/or federal monies and is assigned programs to include activities designed to enhance the effective and coordinated use of funds.
Actively participate in and /or leadership of the inter-department team to help improve student performance in the region improve the centers internal operations and meet the established goals and objectives for the Center.
Assist with opening and closing of the building when needed.
Inspect and service restrooms as needed during the workday.
Do light HVAC work & exhaust fans changing belts etc.
Replacing HVAC filters on all rooftop units.
Do light plumbing work on faucets flush valves etc.
Do light electrical like replacing light bulbs ballasts plugs light switches etc.
Report mechanical & maintenance needs to the Facilities and Operations supervisor.
Help with room resets in the morning as needed.
Responsible for routinely cleaning windows and glass higher than 8 feet above floor level.
Routinely water the plants out front.
Represent the Center in a positive manner by driving company vehicles safely & responsibly.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Scissor lift one-man lift scaffolding all hand and power tools auto scrubber for tile floors vacuum cleaners carpet extractor and other hardware necessary to effectively and efficiently perform the functions of the job.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing stooping bending kneeling and reaching.
Environmental: This could include working outside and inside the facility on slippery or uneven walking surfaces and ladders; and exposure to hot and cold temperatures dust and toxic chemicals and materials.
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
