As Australias leading recycled and kraft paper manufacturer Visy Pulp and Paper is a big part of our business. Our integrated recycling and manufacturing operations means we collect paper and cardboard from households and businesses and turn it into up to 100% recycled paper.
The opportunity:
Join our Visy Paper Mill team in Coolaroo VIC one of five Visy Recycle Pulp & Paper mills located across Australia. This is a
- Permanent full-time position
- Rotating Roster of 4 on 4 off (every 7 cycles get 2 weeks off!)
- 12 hour shifts (7 to 7)
As a Yard Operator you will play a vital role operating a Front End Loader/Skid steer and a forklift with grab attachment to support production. Reporting to the Production manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Loading raw recycled material into conveyors using the front end loader or skid steer and ensuring consistent output with production needs
- Manage the safety practices of the Yard including traffic management contractor supervision storage maintenance etc.
- Load and unload deliveries of materials from internal and external parties
- Operating forklift with a grab attachment safely
- Ensuring equipment is correctly maintained and maintenance is performed regularly.
- Maintain safe work and operating practices and a high level of housekeeping at all times.
- Regularly review work processes and assist in identifying improvements.
What you will bring to the team:
As our Yard Operator you will ideally have prior experience operating a Forklift Front End Loader and/or Skid Steer (desirable but not essential). You have a positive attitude strong work ethic and the ability to work well as a team and independently. We also are looking for those who:
- Able to work autonomously own your work and provide guidance to others
- Is happy to work a 12-hour rotating roster of days and nights permanently
- A problem solver with good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
