We are looking for a dynamic organized self-starter to join our Precision Pin Products Group Manufacturing Facility (PPPG) as a Facility Manager in Sumter South Carolina.

The PPPG facility is within CaterpillarsIntegrated Components Division (ICD)which is one of the most innovative divisions within ICD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is ourcustomers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly everyelement of the first fit and service part value streams from procurement to design and is responsible for thedesign andmanufactureof Wear & Maintenance Products (Undercarriage and GET) and Specialty Products (Seals Tubes & Hardware Hose & Couplings Fluids and Filters).

What You Will Do:

  • Manage staffing development and performance management programs for facility staff; managing motivating and developing management team.
  • Oversee facility activities ensuring that safety and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
  • Drive improvements for overall facility operations performance and implementing production safety cost and quality control mechanisms.
  • Develop implement and drive facility business unit product and divisional strategy.
  • Ensure the compliance of all regulatory guidelines and forges a safe and sound manufacturing environment.

Education requirement:

  • Engineering or Operations Management Degree or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through professional expertise.

What skills you will have:

Manufacturing Safety:

  • Lead and drive our Safety Driven culture across all facets of the business.
  • Drive reduction in safety incidents through cross-site initiatives and proactive hazard mitigation.
  • Apply Lean and EHS practices to enhance safety compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Standardize safety training programs to reinforce a safety-first culture across all levels.
  • Partner with engineering to design ergonomically safe workspaces and reduce risk exposure.

Manufacturing Operations:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to optimize end-to-end production processes and improve throughput.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple production lines ensuring alignment with corporate goals and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Utilize ERP systems to monitor production metrics and support data-driven decision-making.


Performance Management:

  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations for production supervisors and team leads.
  • Use KPIs and dashboards to track team productivity quality and safety performance.
  • Provide coaching and development plans to enhance individual and team capabilities.
  • Recognize and reward high-performing employees to boost morale and retention.
  • Address performance gaps through structured improvement plans and targeted training programs.

Planning and Organizing:

  • Develop and execute production schedules aligned with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Balance labor materials and equipment resources to efficiently meet production goals.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of components and finished goods.
  • Create contingency plans to mitigate risks related to supply disruptions or equipment failures.
  • Lead strategic planning sessions to align production capabilities with long-term business objectives.

Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at Sumter South Carolina office.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position may require up to 10% travel.
