Job Description

Join Our Team as a Neonatologist in Richmond VA

Henrico Doctors Hospital Richmonds largest delivery center with a Level III NICU is seeking a compassionate Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a highly collaborative innovative team committed to excellence in neonatal care providing 24/7 in-house coverage in a state-of-the-art single-family room NICU environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional neonatal intensive care in a 40-bed Level III NICU.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated group of Neonatologists providing continuous 24/7 in-house coverage.
  • Utilize advanced therapies such as HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation) HFJV (High-Frequency Jet Ventilation) inhaled nitric oxide and therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Work alongside on-site pediatric surgery and cardiology specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Coordinate with a nurse-led neonatal transport team for patient transfers and emergency situations.
  • Deliver care in a single-family room NICU model that prioritizes family-centered care.
  • No requirement to cover the newborn nursery focusing exclusively on NICU patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement safety initiatives and collaborative clinical research.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values innovation education and compassionate family support.

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible (within 5 years of eligibility) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine REQUIRED
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics REQUIRED
  • Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain Virginia license REQUIRED
  • Clean malpractice and license history HIGHLY PREFERRED

License and Certification Requirements

  • Medical license to practice in Virginia (or willingness to obtain).
  • Board Certified (BC) Pediatrics.
  • Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) Neonatology.
