Description
The Legal Assistant supports the hospitals legal and risk management operations by providing administrative and clerical assistance to attorneys Medical Staff Clinical Excellence and Patient Safety as well as at-risk staff. This role ensures the timely accurate and confidential handling of legal documentation and case-related materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for legal and risk management functions including potential claims notification to insurance carriers scheduling meetings depositions and hearings. Coordinate collection review and release of medical records and documents for attorneys insurance carriers or courts. Review and process subpoenas interrogatories and legal correspondence. Maintain organized case files track deadlines and prepare reports or summaries. Communicate with court personnel outside counsel and internal staff to facilitate case activity.
Qualifications
Associate degree or certificate in Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies preferred; equivalent experience considered. 2 years experience as a legal assistant or in an administrative support role ideally in healthcare or litigation. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Commitment to confidentiality accuracy and professionalism
