About the role:
You will be part of the team that ensures the quality of our published research. You will be responsible for verifying company/product names; maintaining the rules of Gartner style; spotting and correcting errors involving grammar punctuation and spelling; troubleshooting publishing errors; and performing formatting checks on content before it short this role is responsible for publishing error-free content to our website.
What you will do:
Carry out final proofread checks across all research documents prior to the publishing process
Provide a second set of eyes to the editors of research documents
Proofread assigned reports and research documents while working within defined timelines
Recommend changes to edited materials directly in Google Docs using the suggestions and comments features to ensure recommendations are captured for action
Identify incomplete or incorrect statistics figures and charts to ensure completion of quality documents
Adhere to AP style as well as Gartners in-house Style Guide and Lexicon throughout the proofreading process (e.g. verifying company spellings and product names)
Provide feedback to Editorial to enhance the quality of the documents and also share best practices
Publish the documents per the Gartner policy and process
What you will need:
Masters/Bachelors degree in English Journalism or Liberal Arts
Minimum 2 to 4 years of editorial experience with exposure to quality checking/proofreading preferably working for newspapers magazines or journals in a busy environment with deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle competing deadlines
Excellent English language skills in terms of grammar punctuation style and consistency.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and provide sound recommendations
Numerate and visually literate
Ability to understand and quickly adapt to new processes best practices and changes to style
Working knowledge of Google Docs Sheets and Slides as well as Word Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the IT and telecommunications industries is helpful
Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style is helpful
Ability to handle pressure and stress without compromising quality
Detail-oriented and strong organization skills
Problem-solving mindset and a willingness to take the initiative while mitigating risks
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 49000 USD - 68000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
