The Opportunity

This position works out of our Columbus OH location in the Nutrition Division.

Primary Function:

Support and assist the execution of transportation supply chain processes that meet and/or exceed customer expectations and Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain goals and objectives. The scope includes scheduling and planning less than truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipments including Inbound Raw Materials (IBRM). This person will be working on the computer and phones to communicate with carriers and Abbott Manufacturing. This position will require constant follow up and attention to detail. Supporting activities include communication of carrier performance. This position will have exposure to both external and internal customers and will need to attain high level of customer service across multiple verticals. This role will also have responsibilities for the proper execution and support of our TMS E2Open as a system administrator.

WHAT YOULL DO

MajorResponsibilities:

Specific functional areas of responsibility include:

1. Proactive coordination of on-time delivery for all assigned plants.

2. Support the resolution situations that may jeopardize AN delivery performance and/or ability to meet manufacturing PO must arrive by dates.

3. Support Logistics team with projects that meet division goals customer service expectations and cost requirements.

4. Must interact effectively with Third Party Providers Quality Assurance Customer Service Operations Global purchasing Finance Customer DC Operations Carrier Operations and Sales Management and Division Logistics teams.

5. Conduct business with the highest standards of ethical behavior and in compliance with company rules and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
1. Utilization of the Transportation Management System to schedule LTL and TL shipments to and from Abbott Raw Material suppliers.
2. Act as TMS system Administrator including new customer addition carrier training and alteration of shipments parameters.

3. Maintenance of the TMS routing table.

4. Validate and approve Tranzact billing requests.
5. Technical support of transactions between the TMS and SAP.

6. Support and/or lead department with various projects and assignments as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or minimum 4 years relevant work experience in Logistics operations

Preferred:

  • 4 years of Transportation or Logistics experience Excellent written Verbal and organizational skills.
  • Experience using SAP and Transportation Management Systems
  • Microsoft Office skills (Access Excel Word Power Point) are required.
  • Excel skill level required Pivot tables vlookups and if/then statements.
  • Able to manage and organize large data files.

Accountability / Scope:

Supplier base of 50 TL Carriers 17 LTL Carriers & 1 Parcel Carrier Multiple plant & distribution center operational support Transportation Management Systems Support Travel as required approximately 3% including customer and carrier visits.

  • This is an on-site role - not a remote role.
