Job Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Welder to join our team for a federal construction or renovation project. The Welder will have experience with structural and/or pipe welding in a construction setting understand safety protocols.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints drawings and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
  • Weld structural components using various processes (e.g. MIG TIG Stick Flux-core) and materials (e.g. carbon steel stainless steel aluminum).
  • Perform cutting grinding fitting and assembly of metal parts.
  • Operate welding and fabrication tools torches plasma cutters and heavy-duty equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct visual and quality inspections of welds and joints to meet code and contract specifications.
  • Follow job-specific welding procedures (WPS) and safety plans.
  • Maintain daily time logs for Davis-Bacon certified payroll (WH-347).
  • Adhere to OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines and participate in toolbox talks and inspections.
  • Work closely with foremen engineers and other trades to meet construction schedules.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a welder in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Proficient in structural welding and/or pipe welding using at least one major process (SMAW FCAW GTAW GMAW).
  • Ability to pass weld tests in accordance with AWS or ASME standards.
  • Familiarity with reading fabrication drawings and layout work.
  • Reliable transportation and availability for full project duration.
  • Willingness to work in varied environments (outdoors heights confined spaces etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current welding certifications (AWS D1.1 D1.5 ASME IX etc.).
  • Experience working on federally funded military or public infrastructure projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.
