Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Welder to join our team for a federal construction or renovation project. The Welder will have experience with structural and/or pipe welding in a construction setting understand safety protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
- Weld structural components using various processes (e.g. MIG TIG Stick Flux-core) and materials (e.g. carbon steel stainless steel aluminum).
- Perform cutting grinding fitting and assembly of metal parts.
- Operate welding and fabrication tools torches plasma cutters and heavy-duty equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct visual and quality inspections of welds and joints to meet code and contract specifications.
- Follow job-specific welding procedures (WPS) and safety plans.
- Maintain daily time logs for Davis-Bacon certified payroll (WH-347).
- Adhere to OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines and participate in toolbox talks and inspections.
- Work closely with foremen engineers and other trades to meet construction schedules.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a welder in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proficient in structural welding and/or pipe welding using at least one major process (SMAW FCAW GTAW GMAW).
- Ability to pass weld tests in accordance with AWS or ASME standards.
- Familiarity with reading fabrication drawings and layout work.
- Reliable transportation and availability for full project duration.
- Willingness to work in varied environments (outdoors heights confined spaces etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Current welding certifications (AWS D1.1 D1.5 ASME IX etc.).
- Experience working on federally funded military or public infrastructure projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
