Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise driving the design development and implementation of innovative business technologies across the organization.
As a vital leader within this role is entrusted with the stewardship of several high-performing technology teams. The successful candidate will orchestrate cross-functional collaboration guiding diverse groups of engineers and technologists toward shared objectives. By setting a clear vision fostering open communication and championing innovation this leader will ensure that each team not only excels individually but also contributes synergistically to the organizations broader mission. Empowering teams across multiple disciplines they will cultivate an environment where creativity technical excellence and operational rigor thrive in concert.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage several teams fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
Serve as aplayer-coach balancing leadership duties with direct technical contributions.
Act as the primary technical contact for projects ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
Oversee infrastructure and software development activities in accordance with the PMO Project Delivery Process (SDLC).
Develop and manage departmental budgets ensuring financial accountability and adherence to deadlines.
Ensure the safety soundness and compliance of developed products with internal policies and industry regulations.
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Evaluate project outcomes identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Drive strategic objectives to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Manage reporting requirements and ensure timely delivery.
Lead hiring performance management and professional development of team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Salesforce expertise is required; Martech experience is a plus.
Advanced technical knowledge in at least one primary programming language framework or infrastructure domain.
Strong understanding of architectural concepts and system design; ability to facilitate high-level technical decisions.
Proficiency across the DevOps lifecycle with hands-on experience in at least one area.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Excellent project and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal collaboration and communication abilitiesboth verbal and written.
Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks exercise independent judgment and perform under pressure.
Experience in project management.
Requires a bachelors degree in information technology computer science or a related field and 6 years of experience within the engineering disciplines or other directly related experience.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Work Location:
This position is fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center - 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd Midvale UT 84047
The Zions Technology Center is a 400000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site the sustainably built campus is the companys primary technology and operations center.
