Join our dynamic team at GE Vernova a leader in energy innovation as we embark on the Doggerbank Project.

We are committed to excellence in offshore wind energy and are seeking a skilled Blade Preparation Manager to ensure the readiness of blades for load-out in compliance with project requirements.

Position Overview:

As the Blade Preparation Manager you will oversee operations related to blade readiness at the Marshalling Harbour. This cross-functional role involves troubleshooting preparation and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and QA/QC policies. Reporting directly to the Site Manager you will be part of the PMO-Marshalling Harbour department demonstrating strong communication organizational skills and expertise in blade composites and completion activities.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage blade preparation activities within the Marshalling Harbour to meet Customer & GE OFW goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for blade preparation on-site.
  • Enforce the highest Environmental Health & Safety standards.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of blade activities and load-out readiness.
  • Oversee and implement blade preparation method statements.
  • Allocate and schedule resources efficiently including manpower and equipment.
  • Write and issue Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
  • Manage the issuance of certificates per the Quality plan and procedures.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings and daily toolbox talks.
  • Ensure availability of tooling materials spares and PPE with certification when applicable.
  • Monitor subcontractor personnel training and certifications.
  • Advise the Harbour Manager on major issues affecting EHS or schedule aspects.
  • Support Harbour Manager on contractual and budgetary topics linked to blade preparation.

Essential Characteristics:

  • Experience in blade construction or as a composite technician preferably in the offshore wind sector.
  • Strong supervisory experience with a team of technicians.
  • Ability to work with multinational teams and diverse subcontractor workforce.
  • Proven experience in subcontractor management.
  • Certifications in composite engineering.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Familiarity with standard site safety regulations.
  • Passionate and motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise between customer representatives unionized workers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiation skills with different stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office.
  • GWO certification preferred.
