Performs professional and administrative work assisting the Director of the Office of Community Affairs in the management of OCA operations and staff toward the development implementation outreach monitoring and reporting of initiatives designed to advance the City of Orlandos goals to strategically engage with the nonprofit faith-based arts cultural civic human service and volunteer sectors of our community to achieve Orlandos mission as an inclusive city for all. This work and staff support spans policies and programs across all OCA focus areas with a strong emphasis on creating community partnerships that enhance Orlando administering community grants to address critical/priority needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Public Administration Business Administration Public or Community Relations Communication or equivalent plus four (4) years management work directly related to public service administration community relations or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of current principles and practices in community needs assessments and effective citizen-engagement practices and strategies.
Knowledge of evidence-based grant administration principles volunteer management practices and partnership opportunities.
Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration and public policy management.
Knowledge of data and statistical analysis performance metrics performance tracking and reporting.
Knowledge of fiscal management budget development and grants administration.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of employee supervision management team building and organizational development.
Knowledge of advanced oral and written communication as well as a strong ability to educate persuade and mobilize resources.
Knowledge of pertinent Federal State and local laws ordinances statutes and court decisions relating to municipal sustainability.
Ability to provide oversight and direction for major programs plans and policies.
Ability to communicate clearly effectively and persuasively in all forms to a variety of audiences.
Ability to gather and analyze routine and complex data and interpret and communicate key information for decision-making and formulation of policy recommendations.
Ability to anticipate and avert potential problems and creatively problem solve.
Ability to develop strategic direction and program implementation in collaboration with various external and internal policy bodies partners and stakeholders.
Ability to develop and properly manage budgets grants and other outside funding sources; meet or exceed compliance and reporting requirements for all funding sources.
Ability to identify and secure funding for strategic initiatives from a variety of sources.
Ability to assemble attract retain develop train equip and properly motivate an innovative enterprising inclusive high-performance team.
Ability to plan organize and complete projects initiatives and programs to meet deadlines.
Ability to set goals and objectives develop budgets and performance measures plan activities provide follow-up schedule personnel materials and equipment to ensure successful timely completion of assignments.
Ability to provide timely planning oversight direction and completion of programs events and initiatives that impact municipal operations and the Orlando community.
Ability to retain develop train manage and effectively supervise an innovative high-performing team.
Ability to develop plan and monitor projects and programs effectively on time to avoid late or last- minute actions.
