Job Description

Job Responsibilities

The Citadel The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Director for Athletic role will serve as the primary liaison to the media for multiple Division I sports and will ensure timely and accurate addition to this the role will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Collaborate with the external operations team to conceptualize create and distribute strategic and cutting-edge content.
  • Manage strategic informational marketing and promotional efforts with coaches athletic administrators external operations team members and campus constituents.
  • Provide digital media support including social media video and digital asset management.
  • Work with the appropriate coaches and professional support to conceptualize design produce and distribute print electronic and video material such as record books recruitment publications game programs and email updates.
  • Write and edit news releases game notes and feature articles.
  • Maintain and update history and record books.
  • Manage team rosters statistics records and photo archives.
  • Identify coordinate and manage athletic communications game-day staffing needs and responsibilities for assigned sports.
  • ASSIGNED SPORTS: Mens Basketball; Womens Soccer; Mens Tennis; Mens and Womens Track & Field

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in a collegiate athletics or professional sports communications office
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite specifically InDesign and Photoshop
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge and experience in management of athletic web design (SIDEARM) and NCAA statistical data and reporting systems including NCAA Live Stats (NLS)
  • Social media experience including Twitter (X) Instagram and Facebook
