Senior JAVA Software Developer - Level 1 Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops creates and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.

• Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.

• Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

• Analyzes and designs databases within an application area working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

• Researches designs develops and tests operating systems-level software compilers and network distribution software for medical industrial military communications aerospace business scientific and general computing applications.

• Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements.

• Designs embedded systems software.

• Applies principles and techniques of computer science engineering and mathematical analysis.

• Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.

• Plans and leads major technology assignments.

• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.

• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

• Will supervise others.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Mentor and coach direct reports

• Manage time keeping for direct reports

• Conduct bi-annual performance check-ins

• Meet regularly with direct reports in 1 on 1 sessions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering Computer Science Information Systems

• Management other related discipline or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

• 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience

• Ability to work well within a small team environment

• Strong communication skills

• US Citizenship

• DOD Top Secret Clearance is required.

• Experience with software product development

• Agile Experience

• Software development tools: JIRA Confluence

• Languages/frameworks: JIRA

• Source control tools: GIT
