Salary $55000 year
The RESEA Employment Counselor will provide individualized support and direct assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement to dislocated workers who have been identified through RESEA Rapid Response and/or those who are receiving or have exhausted unemployment compensation benefits (long-term unemployed).
Responsibilities
- Implement recruiting processes and initiatives to identify long-term unemployed dislocated workers RESEA participants Rapid Response referrals and UC claimants
- Conduct targeted outreach and customized service presentations to fully apprise candidates of basic and individualized career services
- Coordinate with community partners training providers and staff to develop a seamless and consistent referral system
- Screen for program eligibility provide assistance securing dislocated worker documentation and assist with completion of dislocated worker registration when needed
- Counsel motivate and encourage assigned caseload of participants through a customized career pathway training opportunities and barrier mitigation to achieve successful placement outcomes
- Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants to aid in eliminating challenges to obtaining and retaining employment
- Document all participant interactions activities case notes and files to ensure that regularly scheduled contacts are made as required
- Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment and develop and maintain a customized service plan to align with participant employment and training goals
- Follow up with partner agencies to ensure engagement in prescribed support services
- Perform outreach to support participant engagement through off-site appointments to employers satellite site locations and community visits
- Provide accurate and timely submission of required program data and reports to ensure real-time reporting needs are met
- Other opportunities as available
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Case management experience preferred
- Attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in a team-oriented environment
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite and other required locations
