Ashland Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled Long-Term Substitute School Adjustment Counselor to provide counseling support while covering leaves at both Ashland Middle School (AMS) and Mindess Elementary School. This position will serve students who receive counseling through their IEP at AMS as well as provide general school counseling for grade 4 students at Mindess. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a Middleand Elementary school setting.
Schedule:
- January 5 February 4: AMS only provide counseling to students on IEPs write IEP goals and attend IEP meetings
- February 5 - March 31: Coverage at both AMS and Mindess
- April 1 May 4: Mindess only
Responsibilities:
- At AMS: Provide individual and small-group counseling to students on IEPs develop and track IEP goals and attend IEP meetings
- At Mindess: Provide school counseling services to grade 4 students
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and families to support student social-emotional growth
- Assist with crisis intervention and student support plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with school staff and families
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Appropriate licensure or certification for school adjustment counseling in Massachusetts
- Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills
