In order to manage current and future projects Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwrth as soon as possible as our new
At Airbus Helicopters in Donauwrth we are looking in the department Airplane Doors Design for you as our new highly skilled Senior Designer - Airplane Doors (d/f/m) to shape our common path to sustainable aerospace.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours (30) and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your location
At our Donauwrth site located on the banks of the river Danube we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
The main activities are the support to production or in-service support such as sustainable improvements of the existing products and the development of new competitive door systems for an emission free aviation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead critical projects mentor junior engineers and play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the department.
Your responsibilities will be mainly focused on the following tasks:
Lead of conceptualization development and detailed design of an airplane door system ensuring they meet strict performance weight and cost requirements
Lead of critical or complex projects and multi-functional teams especially in case of crises or recovery activities
Representing the doors design function in a trustful environment towards key stakeholders such as VSM project management and program management
Proactively identifying issues (technical or organizational) and proposing and driving the solution finding
Showing commitment to deliver under challenging time schedules and engaging co-workers
Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of engineers fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Continuous support towards Head of Department in a variety of capacities including project prioritization strategic planning improvement projects and performance reviews
Check and approval of drawings and documents
Alignment of specification requirements with suppliers and customers
Coordination of work packages with external engineering subcontractors
Desired skills and qualifications
You should have the following knowledge and qualifications:
University degree in the field of engineering aerospace engineering mechanical engineering or similar
Several years of practical experience in the development of aerospace structures or system integration
Technical leadership to steer projects and personnel
Very good analytic and conceptional abilities
Solution-oriented way of working
Communication strength and team spirit within an international team
High personal commitment and engagement
Strive for continuous improvement
Knowledge in CATIA V5 and 3DExperience appreciated
Language Skills: German intermediate and English negotiation level
