Job Description

Job Summary:

As a frontline ambassador for Wausau Supply Company the Diamond Kote Specialist (DKS) plays a vital role in representing and promoting our proprietary Diamond Kote Building Products. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with contractors remodelers and architects providing product expertise training and support to drive brand recognition and secure profitable sales. The DKS will serve as a resource for product education installation guidance and customer solutions within their assigned geography.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Diamond Kote Building Products.

  • Promote and educate contractors remodelers and architects on product features and proper installation practices.

  • Conduct field visits and job site consultations to support installer success and ensure quality application.

  • Sponsor and attend customer-focused educational events (e.g. seminars breakfast/lunch events product shows).

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share.

  • Support contractors through enrollment and use of the Diamond Kote Contractor Program including basic software assistance.

  • Maintain awareness of evolving building codes construction practices and competitive products.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and Territory Managers to ensure product availability and strong dealer partnerships.

  • Provide accurate and timely sales reporting using CRM and other tools.

  • Represent the company at trade shows contractor events and industry meetings.

  • Support homeowner lead conversion in collaboration with contractors.

  • Comply with all company safety initiatives and maintain safety observation records.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and organized company vehicle at all times.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; college degree and/or 3 5 years of related sales or construction experience preferred.

  • General knowledge of residential construction practices and installation techniques.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident presenter.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM and expense reporting tools is a plus.

  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.

Work Requirements:
  • Frequent travel within the assigned territory including occasional overnight stays.

  • Must maintain a clean driving record (MVR) in accordance with company auto insurance policy.

  • Home office must have reliable high-speed internet.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods during travel.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

  • Ability to safely operate air/power tools as needed on job sites.

  • Must maintain a clean professional vehicle in compliance with company maintenance schedules.
