Job Description
The City of Topekas Utilities department is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our dynamic team as a Customer Service Representative. Members of our team serve as a first point of contact for customers and contractors and are responsible for providing excellent service and support for Utility accounts.
What youll do:
- Answer incoming phone calls and take appropriate action as required.
- Process customer service requests bill payments transfer services and customer updates.
- Investigate high water bill complaints and resolve schedule inspections and follow-up as needed.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining office records and correspondence.
The ideal candidate:
- Is passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Has excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
- Has the ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
- Is proficient in the use of standard office software.
- Has prior call center and/or data entry experience.
Hours of operation are M-F 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Work schedule will be dependent on seniority within those hours.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of clerical experience is required with one year of customer service experience preferred.
Entry rate of pay: $16.62 - $17.37 per hour depending on qualifications
