Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe Reliable Maintainable and delivered on time.
Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering our program offices and our customers.
Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

What You Will Do:
As a System Safety Engineer II your responsibilities will include:
Analysis of engineering hardware mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance latent hazards and safety requirements compliance.
Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses.
Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs including:
Monitoring program technical execution Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers program offices subcontractors vendors).
Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval.
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
Interpreting system requirements customer specifications and military standards.
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program.
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design.
This position is posted as ONSITE and is based at the Raytheon Tewksbury MA location.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically Requires aBachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience with analysis of engineering hardware mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance latent hazards and safety requirements compliance.
Experience with Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Experience with DOD System Safety Standards Experience producing System Safety Program Plans (SSPP) Safety Assessment Reports (SAR) Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Hazard Tracking Logs (HTLs) and Hazardous Material Management Plans and Reports.
Experience with Safety Engineering Experience conducting System Safety Working Groups (SSWG)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
