Location is primarily Southeast England potentially Nationwide - home-based with national travel to attend site visits as required.



Hemiko are recruiting for a Mechanical Installation Supervisor reporting to the Head of Internal Delivery.

About Hemiko

Hemiko is a fast-growing innovative business which is looking to invest in and deliver over 1bn of heat network projects in the coming years. We fund design build operates and maintain low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems. This work is for communities towns and cities. We work with local authorities developers house builders and property owners.

We are looking to lead on town and city scale decarbonisation. We recognise that the decarbonisation of heating and the built environment is one of the least known and solution clear areas - this is where we are focused and where we will be deploying our investment and our resource.

We are an innovative design and proactive intelligence led company looking to attract people who think around a problem and past an issue. We want to be at the front end of commercial and technical innovation and are looking for team members to come on that journey.

Some of our current projects include:

  • The design installation operating and funding of a district heating system to serve 3500 homes in Clapham as part of a major regeneration project.
  • The design installation and operation of a new city centre wide low carbon district heating system for the City of Cardiff.
  • The design installation and operation of a ground source heat pump system to provide heating and cooling to a new development of 300 homes a gym and office building in South London.
  • The design and installation of a heat network in a rural community in Cambridgeshire to replace oil boilers in 300 homes with centralised low carbon heat generation.

Developing detailed long-term decarbonisation plans for existing large scale district heating networks to allow them to transition from gas fired CHP led generation to low carbon generation.

The Role:

The responsibilities of this Mechanical Installation Supervisor role include overseeing mechanical work and site pipe fitter welders ducters etc. scoping work and ordering materials issuing permits and ensuring mechanical safety rules are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Job scoping Visit sites before schemes start to measure up and order materials
  • Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirement
  • cascade RAMS for jobs Collate site M&E drawings
  • Authorised person responsibilities
  • Issue permits when required
  • Oversee electricians or mechanical subcontractors
  • issue commissioning engineers permits and assist with commissioning phase
  • Complete mechanical site safety audits and mechanical completion paperwork on Procore
  • Ensure safe working practices and mechanical safety rules are followed by electricians on site
  • Complete red line drawings for as-builts when schemes are completed
  • Ensure testing (pressure gas etc) certificates are fully completed and issued to Qualified Supervisor for sign- off
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed as required
  • Completed permits and RAMS returned to mechanical manager on a weekly basis via procore
  • Ensure Procore online reporting on a daily basis with site issues or progression
  • Ensure all drawings are available and issued to site teams for commencement of work

Key relationships:

Mechanical team including Mechanical manager site supervisors and Pipe fitters

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of permit systems
  • Industrial and commercial heating and Vent level NVQ
  • Experience of scoping jobs and ordering materials
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings panel drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Industrial M&E Knowledge Good literacy skills
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • CSCS ECS card SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Proactive thinking with an enthusiastic character
  • Well organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent people management skills

  • Remuneration: 55000 per annum
