Job Description

Overview

Element are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Ledger Clerk to join our Credit Control team. The role will be a 9 month maternity cover and will focus on managing and maintaining accurate customer data. Ensuring the integrity of the sales ledger and supporting the wider credit control function. You will play a key role in safeguarding cash flow maintaining strong financial records and ensuring customer information is up-to-date and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing customer data ensuring all records are accurate complete and compliant with internal policies.
  • Maintain and update the sales ledger to reflect current customer account information.
  • Verify and validate customer data (credit checks VAT numbers company details etc.) as required.
  • Support credit control activities by providing up-to-date ledger information
  • Collaborate with finance and sales teams to ensure smooth data flow and resolution of customer queries.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies relating to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Identify and implement improvements in customer data management and sales ledger processes.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a sales ledger accounts receivable or credit control role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of customer data.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (D365NavisionBi Reporting) desirable.
  • Excel and general MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organised proactive and able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of credit control principles and customer onboarding processes is advantageous.
