What Youll Do

As an HSE Specialist you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations driving a culture of safety and protecting the health and wellbeing of our employees. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading planning implementation and coordination of accident prevention fire prevention occupational health and environmental programs.
  • Providing safety health and environmental training to employees.
  • Conducting regular facility inspections hazard/risk assessments and incident investigations with corrective actions.
  • Enforcing all GEA production HSE legal requirements including PPE assessments incident reporting and environmental compliance.
  • Organizing and ensuring annual execution of emergency response drills (fire tornado earthquake evacuation shelter-in-place).
  • Preparing filing and maintaining records reports and permits (EPA OSHA state and local).
  • Auditing sites to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Supporting the QHSE Manager in sustaining ISO certifications and driving continuous improvement.

Your Profile / Qualifications

What Were Looking For

  • Education: Two-year degree in HSE with one additional year of relevant experience or any two year degree and two years working in the field.
  • Experience: Experience in a chemical or manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA state and local safety/environmental regulations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Problem-solving decision-making and negotiation skills.
    • Detail-oriented organized and proactive.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day.
    • Lift/carry 2535 lbs. occasionally.
    • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments (PPE required).
  • Travel: Limited travel up to 10% to GEA production and shop sites across North America.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $70000-$90000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors including skill set experience location qualifications and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
