What can you expect

As the Business Compliance Specialist you will work on-site in Anchorage and support the various technical and administrative functions for multiple Brice 8(a) companies to ensure efficient and effective business operations. Responsibilities include SBA and business license requirements in addition to providing administrative support to the company president. Personal initiative and critical thinking skills are essential to complete job duties with minimal guidance. Assignments are deadline driven so must be able to set priorities take ownership of projects work efficiently and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.

How will you do it

  • Support the preparation of SBA 8(a) Mentor-Protg and Joint Venture Applications including entry into SBA CERTIFY system
  • Support SBA annual reviews and report requirements including data entry into SBA CERTIFY system
  • Support the reporting of Joint Venture and Mentor/Protge agreements
  • Support state licensing requirements for business/personnel outside of Alaska
  • Support the multi-state DBE applications/reporting
  • Coordinate Bonding and Insurance requirements
  • Support the company presidents administrative functions

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have no supervisory functions.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal and state contracting programs including SBA DBE and other related programs.
  • Knowledge of basic corporate governance principles and knowledge of SBA rules and regulations including the 8(a) Business Development Program Alaska Native Corporations and basic contract principles.
  • Knowledge of state business registration and licensing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic contracts insurance policies governmental forms relating to business registration and licensing safety rules and other like documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to use standard business computers and business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint programs especially Word Power Point and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to multi-task and manage time.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic and ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Who is Brice Environmental Services looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years experience working in a business with federal and state contracting experience.
  • Valid state drivers license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Environmentals Driving Policy
  • Ability to pass a drug driving and background screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two or more years experience working with an Alaska Native Corporation and SBA programs preferred.
  • Alaska notary certification preferred
