Job Summary

Grinders are responsible for performing class C/B grinding and finishing work on sheet metal products for secondary operations with low cosmetic visibility.

GENERAL DUTIES

Prepare and operate standard hand grinders.
Deburr buff and or polish materials to specifications.
Examines and feels surface of product for defects.
Removal of defects scratches excess weld material and burs to produce a smooth unmarred surface.
Prepare products for secondary operations such as powder coating by achieving a Class C/B finish with low cosmetic visibility.
Ensure that safety devices guards are operative and follow safety protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
Vision abilities requires close distance color peripheral and depth
Required to lift push pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
May be required to stoop bend kneel crouch or crawl.
Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
