Our Opportunity

Due to exponential growth and contracts won NEPEAN Engineering are seeking Fitters to join the team. These positions are full-time permanent opportunities based in Prestons NSW.

Daily duties will include however are not limited to;

• Operating Heavy Rollers and 1000T press
• Ability to evaluate understand and fabricate from technical drawings achieving a high-quality result
• MIG Welding (bare and flux)
• Operate mag-based drill punching shear plasma cutting flame-cutting air carbon arc gouging tube bender and forklifts if applicable
• Identify improvements and complete a Non-Conformance Report if/when required.
• Ensuring that your work area is of a high standard and free of hazards.
• Provide training to apprentices by demonstrating correct work procedures.
• Fabrication of plate work
• Responsible for the housekeeping and cleanliness of your designated workplace and site in general to 5S Standard

The right people:

We are looking for candidates with the following capabilities and skills:

• Completed a Certificate III in Fabrication and Welding (mandatory)
• Demonstrated experience in Fabrication of Structural Steel Heavy plate work
• Previous experience with Handling Fabricated/Welded Structures
• Previous experience with heavy pressing and rolling highly regarded
• Be able to read and interpret drawings
• Rights to work in Australia
• Organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a design team
