A Day in the Life

PLEASE NOTE: This posting is specifically intended for current USC Students that are eligible to participate in approved Co-Op opportunities. Must have current academic standing and eligibility to enroll in an intern/co-op course. USC will verify eligibility. USC Career Fair is October 1st.

Students in our Co-Op Program do real work within experienced engineering teams to improve lives of millions. We are hiring for Software Engineering (Development Test Automation Mobile Cloud) and Data Science roles.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronics Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. Diabetes Business Description

The Diabetes Operating Unit focuses on improving the lives of those within the global diabetes community. As a business we strive to empower people with diabetes to live life on their terms by delivering innovation that truly matters and providing support in the ways they need it. Were committed to meeting people with diabetes where they are in their journey always with an aim to make their lives easier. Our portfolio of innovative solutions are designed to provide customers greater freedom and better health helping them achieve better glucose control while spending less time managing their disease.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for a Spring 2026 engineering Co-Op position you must meet the following basic requirements. Your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these criteria to be considered for a position.

  • Requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 0 years of experience required.

  • The ability to participate part time (20 hours/week) for the Spring semester starting January 2026.

  • Must have current academic standing at USC and eligibility to enroll in an intern/co-op course.

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and do not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa. The Medtronic Co-Op Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship. Individuals with temporary visas such as E F-1 H-1 H-2 L B J or TN or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible.

  • The ability to work on-site at our Northridge California office.

Nice to Have

  • 13 years of experience in software testing or development

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: JavaScript Python Java or SQL

  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and lifecycle

  • Familiarity with Agile processes and Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence)

  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

  • Experience in key AWS services (e.g. S3 EC2 Lambda CloudWatch SageMaker)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins CircleCI) and automated test tool development for commercial products

  • Experience with NoSQL technologies including graph document and key-value data storage

  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • Basic understanding of API testing concepts and tools (e.g. Postman SoapUI)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$65600.00 - $98400.00

The base salary range is used nationally in the United States excluding Puerto Rico. The Medtronic Co-Op Program offers an hourly rate of pay that falls within the range of $28to $32 per hour. The hourly rate offered will be determined by the position and is subject to variation based on the number of years of school completed.
