The program assistant is a vital part of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) team at Wenatchee Valley College that serves 140 eligible students in successfully completing a 2-yr degree. The assistant will provide TRIO staff students faculty and/or the public with information and interpretation of policies and activities related to the program. This position performs general office duties assistance with administrative tasks and specific responsibilities around TRIO services and program objectives.
TRIO SSS programs are federal outreach and student services programs in the United States designed to identify and provide services to assist low-income individuals first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities to complete a degree. These programs are funded by the United States Department of Education. The goal of TRIO SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates among its participants.

Terms of Employment:
The current vacancy in TRIO support services is a part-time (20 hours per week) overtime and benefit eligible grant-funded position expected to begin as soon as possible. The grant is funded through August 31 2026. Continuation of the position is contingent on continued grant funding.
The prorated starting salary hiring range for 20 hours per week is $1619.50 per month ($18.61 per hour) to $1821.50 (20.94 per hour) with periodic increases and earning potential to $2149.50 per month ($24.71 per hour).The list established by this recruitment will be active for a minimum of three months and be used to fill this position only.
