Are you the kind of person who notices the blink of a router light before a help desk ticket comes in Do you enjoy building secure reliable networks and keeping them that way If so wed love to talk. At King William County were looking for a Network Administrator whos passionate about infrastructure proactive in problem-solving and ready to take ownership of our growing network environment. This isnt a sit-back-and-monitor role. We want someone whos ready to design secure and optimize.
Under general supervision this exempt position is responsible for performing complex technical work in the support of servers applications and databases. Reports to the Information Technology Director.
Provide systems administration technical support including installation configuration and maintenance of enterprise software applications databases and servers; research troubleshoot and resolve problems related to identity management email mobile devices internet issues document management systems availability and performance or related issues; ensure appropriate security measures are in place for individuals and departments; and install and configure network operating systems.
Assist with installing and updating software and maintains patch management; responds monitors the Help Desk Ticketing system and maintains documentation as necessary; evaluates and recommends acquisition of additional replacement and upgraded personal computer systems to meet the countys information technologyneeds; interfaces and communicates with computer hardware vendors regarding the acquisition or discontinuance of equipment and maintenance support; maintains a supply of commonly replaced computer and printer parts; and schedule additions/deletions to the information technology environment in a manner which results in minimal disruption of customer services.
Monitor on-going operation of the remote communications networks; identify existing and potential problem areas; initiate corrective action and recommend reallocation of resources when workload conditions are not balanced.
Develop security strategies to protect internal networks and data centers implementing protective measures for business systems researching the latest cybersecurity strategies proactively implement; safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems; and determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.

Required Abilities
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field and 3 - 4 years of experience in server operating systems and related enterprise software including experience with configuration and support of internet services or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
Requires a comprehensive background investigation to include a local state and federal criminal
history check; and sex offender registry.
A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
This position requires satisfactory results from pre-employment substance abuse testing.
