Whats the role

The Software Engineer will support solution design assessment estimation and development of capabilities and features on the ServiceNow platform. The Software Engineer collaborates closely with Product Owners Business Analysts Solution Designers and Developers to ensure high-quality designs and configurations that meet best practices and customer expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Development and review of Jira stories and solution artifacts.
  • Providing advice on ServiceNow best practices and platform features to stakeholders and practice leads.
  • Creating detailed technical designs evaluating options and estimating development efforts for ServiceNow modules.
  • Performing development tasks for complex deliverables.
  • Leading code reviews and offering peer support and guidance.
  • Coaching developers both internally and among supplier resources.

This role supports flexible work arrangements and offers opportunities for upskilling on new tools and technologies.

What do I need

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience with the ServiceNow platform ideally with exposure to SecOps or HRSD modules and be self-driven. Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Expertise in ServiceNow configuration customization and administration.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Strong experience with Client Scripts Business Rules UI Policies UI Actions ACLs forms workflows integration hub and custom Service Portal widgets.
  • Functional knowledge of other ServiceNow modules including ITSM ITOM CMDB Reporting/Performance Analytics and Service Catalog/Portal.
  • Desirable familiarity with programming languages such as Java Python .
  • Advantageous exposure to HTTP REST API design best practices event-driven architectures asynchronous programming concepts and modern web design.

These competencies ensure the candidate can effectively contribute to the development and enhancement of Westpacs technology solutions.
