Job Description
This position is responsible for planning organizing and directing the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR)/Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) Fund Accounting Unit staff in the financial management and reporting of the Departments various funds. The Unit is responsible for establishing and maintaining Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Application (SIGMA) profiles and all fund account structures preparing and reviewing periodic financial reports maintaining accounting control by reviewing account balances and adjusting entries and year-end closing of the Departments various funds.
The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Accountant Manager 14 position.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelors degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.Experience
Four years of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports equivalent to an Accountant or an Auditor including two years equivalent to an Accountant P11 or Auditor P11 or one year equivalent to an Accountant 12 or Auditor 12.Alternate Education and Experience
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant Certification may be substituted for one year of Accountant P11 experience.
ORPossession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.
