The Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) is a constitutionally created regulatory agency dedicated to serving the public interest. The LPSCs mission is to impartially equitably and efficiently regulate the rates and service of public utilities and common carriers operating in the State to ensure safe reliable and reasonably priced services for consumers and provide the opportunity for a fair rate of return for the regulated utilities and common carriers; and to carry out legislative mandates.
This position will analyze financial and accounting records to discern problems involving affiliated transactions net plant cost management contracts and the appropriate use of assets in order to assure compliance with Commission orders regulatory rules and regulations and accounting principles etc.Job Duties:
This position will analyze financial and accounting records to discern problems involving affiliated transactions net plant cost management contracts and the appropriate use of assets in order to assure compliance with Commission orders regulatory rules and regulations and accounting principles etc. Additionally this position:
Examines supporting documents such as invoices receipts canceled checks sales receipts legal contracts accounting entries loan agreements and any other form of documentation for the validity of expenditures and any other legal transactions to determine whether it is an allowable and/or prudent transaction.
Calculates the dollar amount and percentage of adjustments identified during the auditing process.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational and Promotional
Advancement: This position provides the opportunity to advance within the job series.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.
Compensation:This position has retention pay of $1.00 per hour for each hour worked.
