Job Overview

Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: NMT PSJHC Nuclear Med
Type: Travel Contract 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8-Hour (07:00 15:30)
Start Date: 09/29/2025

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their imaging team. This position requires experience in nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures with an emphasis on professional knowledge patient care and equipment operation. The role includes rotational call coverage and weekend availability.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic studies including whole body scans cardiac stress testing bone scans and thyroid studies.

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and conduct lymphoscintigraphy and other specialized procedures.

  • Operate imaging equipment (Phillips preferred) and ensure accurate image acquisition.

  • Start and maintain peripheral IV access for procedures.

  • Participate in call coverage:

    • Weekdays: 4 PM 11 PM (immediately following shift)

    • Weekends & Holidays: 7 AM 11 PM

  • Collaborate with radiologists physicians and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate results and patient safety.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital and state/federal regulations.

Key Requirements:
  • Shift Variability: Start times may vary (7 AM 9 AM or 10 AM).

  • Call Coverage: Required rotational basis.

  • Weekend/Holiday Availability: Mandatory.

  • Floating: May be required within related units.

  • Locals Accepted: Yes.

  • Pending License Accepted: No.

  • RTO Restrictions: Must be disclosed at the time of submittal.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (first-timers accepted).

  • Must have community hospital experience.

License / Certifications:

  • Required: BLS NMTCB (ARRT acceptable substitute where applicable).

  • Preferred: ARRT-NM

Skills (Required / Preferred):*

  • Nuclear Medicine Procedures:

    • Bone Scan (Limited / Whole Body / 3 Phase / Shunt)

    • Abdominal* Ventricular* Myocardial studies

    • Adenosine infusion Persantine Pharmacological stress SPECT

    • Brain Liver Renal Thyroid Parathyroid (Sestamibi) Cancer Survey I-123 Uptake

    • Renal Flow (Captopril Lasix) Brain Scan (Cerebral Blood Flow)

    • Lung Scan (DTPA Aerosol Perfusion Ventilation/Perfusion)

    • Tumor Localization (Limited / Whole Body)

    • Liver/Spleen Scan (Flow Imaging Hemangioma)

  • Specialized Skills: Lymphoscintigraphy (must perform tracer injection) Gastric Emptying HIDA.

  • Equipment: Phillips*

Professional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Start and maintain peripheral IV access.
