Position Summary:
The Programme and Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning coordination and execution of events at the Niagara Falls Exchange (NFX). This role ensures events are delivered safely efficiently and in alignment with municipal goals for community engagement cultural celebration and economic development.
Supervises:
Special Event Ambassadors PT (3) Woodshop Technicians PT (2) summer students and volunteers.
Responsible For:
Develop and manage programming schedules for music comedy and cultural events.
Manage relationships and coordinate bookings with artists agents promoters and community organizations.
Oversee event logistics including staffing technical production and venue setup.
Act as onsite lead during events managing setup execution and teardown.
Ensure compliance with health safety and licensing regulations.
Manage relationships with vendors sponsors and community partners.
Monitor event budgets contracts and financial performance.
Seek funding sources for programming including grants and sponsors
Oversee onsite woodworking studio supervise the woodworking techs and support woodworking programming.
Train and supervise part-time staff summer students and volunteers.
Prepare and monitor event budgets expenditures and revenue forecasts.
Contribute to the development and review of event-related policies and procedures.
Collaborate with communications teams to promote events through various media.
Contribute to policy development and strategic initiatives for inclusive programming.
Ensure high-quality guest experiences and operational efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Event Management Arts Administration Business or related field.
35 years of experience in event coordination or venue programming preferably in entertainment.
Strong organizational interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Social media and content creation skills.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
Valid Ontario Class G drivers license.
Emergency First Aid/CPR and Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions:
Requires evening and weekend availability based on event schedules.
May involve lifting equipment and standing for extended periods.
Exposure to loud music and stage lighting during events.
