IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canadas oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. JOB SUMMARY
The Camp Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations at Reindeer Station helping maintain a safe clean and well-kept environment for staff and user groups. Key duties include sharing essential information keeping basic equipment and supply records reporting necessary repairs or maintenance needs and assisting with scheduling for maintenance and hospitality staff. The role helps with resource management (wood water) supports safe site access and facility functionality and contributes to seasonal maintenance and shutdown activities. The position also assists with Reindeer Stations expansion project by coordinating on-site labor preparing work areas and supporting contractors as directed. Additional duties may include providing similar operational support for other land-based programs or municipal events led by IRC in outdoor settings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have or be able to attain:/have:
- Grade 10 education
- Class 5 NWT Drivers License
- Pleasure Craft Operators License
- Possession Acquisition License
- Wilderness First Aid
- Small engines certificate an asset
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and safely operate small engines and equipment on site at Reindeer Station (Chainsaws brush cutters two-behind bush hog diesel generator ATV and snowmobiles)
- Ability to work remotely for periods of time up to 20 days away from community
- Follow work plans and effectively communicate and discuss operations and maintenance concerns if they arise
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance and daily journal entries are complete
- Ability to work with various client types/user groups that are hosted at Reindeer Station and other places on the Land
- Class 5 Drivers Licence is required
- Have or be able to obtain Pleasure Craft Operators Card (Boat License) Remote Wilderness First Aid CPR AED Certificate
- Ability to work in cross-cultural environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work Hours: Flexible hours while at Reindeer Station other camps
- Work Environment: Inuvialuit Corporate Centre Reindeer Station Other Land-based camps (i.e. Health & Wellness Tent Site)
- Travel Requirements: Travel depends on season and possible meeting requirements
- Work Remotely: Ability to work remotely for short periods of time.
