Location: Colorado Springs CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time Day Shift

Compensation: $41.16 - $41.16 /hourly

Tessera is seeking a skilled and experienced Electronics Technician II to support technical operations at USAFA. This role involves performing advanced installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities. The technician applies comprehensive knowledge of electronic theory and system interrelationships to ensure the reliability safety and performance of mission-critical infrastructure.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Install configure and maintain advanced electronic systems including communication and control equipment
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance
  • Calibrate and test equipment to meet performance standards and operational requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers and senior staff on system upgrades and technical documentation
  • Support emergency repairs mentor junior technicians and ensure adherence to safety and USAFA protocols

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of experience in electronics maintenance troubleshooting and system integration
  • Associate degree in electronics electrical engineering technology or a related field preferred
  • Technical certifications in electronics HVAC controls or building automation systems are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with basic electronic theory circuit analysis and diagnostic tools
  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs SCADA systems and automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
  • Basic understanding of electronic components wiring and system functionality
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
