As the Senior Manager of Talent Management you will be responsible for JCIs talent experience through the enterprise talent processes. As part of the Talent Management COE you will contribute to continued evolution of our skills strategy talent mobility and other enterprise Talent initiatives.
This global role has a significant focus on the APAC region where approximately 3040% of your efforts will be concentrated. You will support talent initiatives across business units within APAC while also contributing to broader global programs and strategies that impact leaders and professional employees across Johnson Controls.
Your work will be instrumental in driving talent success throughout the organization with a deep understanding of regional nuances and global alignment. You will report to the Vice President of Talent Management Learning and Development and collaborate closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) as well as Centers of Excellence including Total Rewards Talent Acquisition HR Operations HR Analytics and Learning and Development.
How you will do it:
This global role is anchored in supporting the APAC region where approximately 3040% of your focus will be dedicated to supporting and localizing global talent management practices. You will play a critical role in translating enterprise-wide strategies into regionally relevant programs that meet the unique needs of APAC leaders and teams while also contributing to broader global initiatives.
You will support the implementation of talent management programs and service offerings across APAC ensuring alignment with Johnson Controls high-performance culture. You will work to understand the distinct needs of individuals teams departments and the broader organization to help define adapt and leverage tools and processes that drive talent outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Organization Talent Review: Support the execution of the global talent review process within APAC including Workday succession planning 9-box calibration and roll-up coordination. Partner with the Directors and Sr Manager of Talent HR Technology HRBPs and business leaders to assess leadership pipeline health and organizational talent depth. Contribute to learning deployment and identify opportunities for regional process improvement and automation.
Performance Management: Ensure performance management tools and processes are effectively implemented across APAC supporting calibrated differentiation and performance messaging. Drive goal setting mid-year and year-end appraisal processes in alignment with global standards.
Individual Development: Promote career mobility and progression practices that foster transparency engagement and growth across APAC while aligning with global frameworks.
Coaching and Mentoring: Support the design and execution of coaching and mentoring programs to identify and develop high-potential talent in APAC contributing to a robust leadership pipeline.
Skills Strategy: Collaborate on the global skills strategy and roadmap helping to design and implement skills-related offerings in APAC such as Career Profiles skills validation mapping and on-the-job assignments.
Talent Metrics: Partner with HR Analytics to utilize dashboards and insights that help APAC HRBPs and leaders focus on key talent KPIs. Use data to measure effectiveness of regional initiatives and recommend follow-up actions.
Thought Leadership: Stay informed on market developments and best practices in talent and organizational development especially within APAC. Serve as a regional subject matter expert and performance consultant.
Process Innovation: Continuously improve talent processes in APAC to integrate best practices and drive efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining alignment with global standards.
What we look for:
Required
Bachelors degree in a related field
10 total years experience; relevant experience 5 years preferred including proven track record working in a Center of Expertise (COE) designing enterprise-wide aspects of Talent Management
Experience with Performance management and Succession Planning
Comfort learning new technology and designing processes through human capital or other IT systems (Workday Oracle SuccessFactors SAP)
Collaborative thought leader and change agent
Strong external orientation and continuous learner
Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders
Experience leading in a large highly matrixed global organization
Excellent influencing interpersonal relationship building and team collaboration skills
Able to translate business needs into talent programs that have measured impact on the business
Thinks strategically yet tactically focused on execution
Effective written and verbal communication ability
Able to utilize Microsoft suite of software to complete job duties
Preferred
Masters degree in HR Talent Organization Dynamics I/O Psychology
Knowledge and practical experience with workforce planning enterprise skills or other specialized areas of talent management
Experience leading in a technology forward business
Experience with Workday human capital system
