About the Role
Were looking for an employee relations professional to join our team as a Manager Employee Relations and HR Governance. You will play a critical role ensuring a consistent legally sound and compassionate approach to managing workplace issues and HR compliance across Elements global operations. With a strong emphasis on Canada and the United States this role supports the development implementation and monitoring of Employee Relation strategies HR Policies and Governance frameworks that align with organizational values and legal requirements. This role partners with HR Business Partners Legal Audit and business leaders to proactively identify risks promote best practices and lead investigations and resolutions in employee matters. The incumbent will also champion governance initiatives to ensure policies standards and practices are consistent transparent and up to date across jurisdictions.
What Youll Do
- Lead and/or advise on various employee relations cases including workplace investigations performance management and conflict resolution with a compassionate lens and attitude.
- Works closely with the Director of Employee Relations to review and resolve complex high-risk cases.
- Provide advice and counsel on restructuring initiatives including role eliminations and Reductions in Force (RIFs) ensuring fair consistent and legally compliant practices.
- Monitor ER case trends conduct root cause analyses and provide data-driven insights to proactively address emerging issues and support decision-making
- Support the development harmonization and maintenance of global and regional HR policies employee handbooks and compliance frameworks.
- Drives the annual HR policy framework and review process.
- Partners with Legal Audit and others to ensure alignment with employment legislation and internal / external standards.
- Provide guidance coaching to HR Business Partners and people leaders on handling ER issues conflict resolution terminations performance management and workplace accommodations.
- Create design and deliver training sessions materials and tools for HR and leaders to strengthen ER capabilities and governance awareness across the organization
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Employment Law Industrial Relations or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations (ER) and HR governance.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex ER cases in Canada and the U.S. is required; global experience is an asset.
- Deep knowledge and experience with Canadian and U.S. employment legislation
- Strong expertise in workplace investigations policy development and risk management
- Ability to coach influence and build trust with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated discretion professionalism and judgment
- Comfort working in a fast-paced matrixed global environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Masters or CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
Location: Toronto
The hiring base salary range for this position is $99200 - $120000 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individuals knowledge skills experience equity with other team members and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
