Job Description

Location: Johannesburg Bryanston
Work model: Hybrid (3 days in-office 2 days remote)
Salary: R80 000 R90 000 CTC

About our client..
An independent creative agency with an enviable reputation is looking for a Business Unit Director to lead their alcohol portfolio. The work is creatively ambitious culturally resonant and commercially impactful. This is a role for someone who lives and breathes beer culture gets fired up about award-winning work but never loses sight of the ultimate goal: selling product.

What the job involves..

  • Leading a well-established team on a flagship alcohol account

  • Owning senior client relationships and delivering strategic creative and commercial excellence

  • Collaborating closely with strategy and creative leads to produce bold effective work

  • Balancing creative ambition with a focus on brand performance and sales impact

  • Staying culturally curious and trend-aware immersed in the world your consumers live in

  • Guiding integrated TTL campaigns from concept to execution

  • Mentoring and inspiring a talented client service team

  • Managing operational health and driving growth opportunities

  • Playing a key role in maintaining one of the agency s longest-standing client relationships

What you need to be considered..

  • 10 years experience in client service including time at GAD or BUD level

  • Big brand experience is essential alcohol experience is a bonus not a must

  • A strategic mind with a deep love of creativity

  • Track record of delivering work that wins awards and sells

  • Strong team leadership and people management skills

  • Comfortable working closely with creatives and strategists alike

  • A calm clear communicator who builds trust with clients

  • Organised in control and across every detail without being a micromanager

  • Collaborative and kind someone who lifts others up and leads with heart

  • Have helped build or grow an iconic FMCG brand

  • Have worked on campaigns that earned industry recognition

  • Can talk beer with genuine passion
