Ensign Peak Advisors is an affiliated organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day support of the Churchs global mission Ensign Peak Advisors manages the financial reserves of the Church and provides cash management services to fund Church operations.
Within Ensign Peak the Portfolio Strategy team works with the Chief Investment Officer to allocate the investment portfolio across different asset classes and geographies. The team also monitors economic conditions and market risks to communicate on these topics with Church leaders and affiliates. The Portfolio Strategy team positions the overall portfolio by modeling the building blocks of asset class returns assessing the impact of current events on financial markets identifying important long-term macro and market trends screening for investment opportunity from market dislocation and undertaking actionable research and analysis in many other areas.
We seek a Data Analyst with 35 years of professional experience to support the development and use of a diverse data ecosystem and internal analytics platform. This role requires strong technical and analytical capabilities with a focus on wrangling structured data in collaboration with investment analysts to present clean clear and actionable insights for investment and operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate fluency in querying and transforming data using SQL and Python as well as experience creating compelling visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI or Plotly/Dash. This individual will work closely with a cross-functional team of finance data and technology professionals to support ongoing analytics initiatives maintain data pipelines and carefully monitor the accuracy of reports dashboards and presentations. This is a hands-on rolebest suited for someone who thrives at the intersection of data analytics business context and light development work.
Perform data validation transformation and wrangling tasks to support internal platform
Maintain dashboards and wireframe prototypes to communicate key metrics
Analyze complex datasets to ensure quality and consistency
Collaborate with other data/investment analysts to improve data analysis and reporting
Integrate ideas and work products across technology stack
Support the Portfolio Strategy team with ad-hoc data generation and analytics requests
Bachelors degree in Data Science Computer Science or applied quantitative field
Masters Degree with emphasis in finance investments or economics preferred
3 years experience in applied corporate investment analysis and management.
Passion for data and analytics at the intersection of finance and technology.
Strong proficiency in Excel SQL and R/Python.
Capability to design/modify dashboards using PowerBI and Plotly/Dash.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and a production environment like
React.
Exceptional attention to detail especially in recurring or routine data tasks.
Visual design sensibility and an ability to present data clearly and effectively to
stakeholders.
Strong communication and collaboration skills comfortable working in cross-functional
teams.
Interest in financial analysis/engineering willingness to pursue the CFA designation upon
hire.
Other Information:
Job Type - Full-time; seeking recent graduates who hold permanent U.S. work
authorization.
Timing - Start full-time in Fall 2025.
Location - Onsite at our offices in SLC plus work from home in a hybrid structure.
Church Membership - Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have
a current temple recommend.
