The Candidate

As our Junior Legal Counsel youll work closely with Senior Legal Counsel to ensure the company operates smoothly ethically and in full compliance with the law. This is a role for someone who wants to grow into a trusted legal advisor combining technical skills business awareness and professional judgment. Youll be part of a team that values precision integrity and proactive thinking.
The Role
The role will consist of but not limited to the following actions on a daily basis:
- Contract review and drafting:
- Conducting review and risk-based assessment of incoming contracts (NDA master agreements purchase and sale agreement etc.)
- Amending and drafting contractual templates to accommodate new use cases products or regulation.
- Establish and maintain contract templates and a streamlined contracting process to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Communicating with business partner and counterparty to negotiate and manage inquiries and issues regarding prospective and existing contracts.
- Compliance support:Monitor changes in legislation and assist in ensuring our policies and practices stay up to date.
- Assisting with claims
- Risk awareness:Identify potential legal issues early and help design practical solution
- Cross-team collaboration: Partner with departments such as Finance HR Risk and Operations to provide legal guidance that supports their goals.
The Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in law preferably with common law background and a strong interest in commercial and/or corporate law.
- Native or fluent in English
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience including 13 years of relevant legal practice in-house or at a law firm ideally with exposure to trading companies.
- You have demonstrated experience as commercial lawyer with excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
- The ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear conciseway
- An eye for detail combined with an understanding of the bigger business picture
- A flexible proactive pragmatic collaborative and result-driven professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Eager to assume responsibilities and learn new tasks
- Ability to multi-tasking on different projects
