PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc. a Unit of IDEX Corporation is seeking a student Co-Op to work within our Engineering Department specifically within the Biopharma project group. Student will participate in design/new product development projects to support Growth & Innovation in our Biopharma pumping segment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate on cross-functional & international project teams

• Support New Product Development efforts in biopharma segment

• Aid in testing and data analysis of new product prototypes

• Assist with project research through simulations & documentation

• Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks

• Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system

• Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology

• Aid in Engineering calculations and documentation

• Other engineering projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Biomedical Engineering or similar degree of study

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Adaptability/managing change

• Self-guided learning

• High impact communication

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook

• CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENT:

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex write by hand and keyboard and perform general office functions.

• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

• General manufacturing warehouse and office environment.
